CLASSES & WORKSHOPS

Summer is here and we are excited to share some fun, educational arts and crafts with you! Come and join us for hula and nā hana lima noʻeau!

FREE INTRODUCTORY HULA CLASSES

Attendees will get a glimpse of how hālau students will begin their hula journey. Students will learn the foundational hula steps and a hula 'auana lesson. 

Classes are offered in a series of two, one hour haʻawina (lessons) per week:​

  • Tuesday - 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.

    • Introduction and review of foundational hula steps

    • Introduction of mele hula lesson

  • Friday - 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    • Review of foundational hula steps

    • Continuation of mele hula lesson

 

SUMMER WORKSHOPS

This five week program offers weekly workshops consisting of hula, lei making, mini ipu (gourd) crafts, hula pā'ū (dance skirt) making, and native Hawaiian plant dye, and paper art. Our Ulu Pono program also offers workshops in creating crystal gardens, kokedama, sun catchers and jewelry making.
